Being in the affiliate marketing business is easier now than ever. It is much easier now compared to the days when the early pioneers were plying their trade, making mistakes and creating a path that is easier than ever for us to follow. We owe a great deal to the Internet Marketing heroes and gurus.
So, with this system in mind and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…
Early morning…
Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the business. For the marketer, there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track of. Perhaps there are a few big sales, so, of course, we need to track where those sales came from
The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase visitors’ sign-ups and help the affiliate’s conversion rates. We’re always going to be keeping an eye out for other sites, for ideas that we like and can implement in our business.
A little later…
It is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that list affiliate programs. These directories are a sure way to promote the affiliate program by attracting people to join it!
It’s time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and emails to track down. See if new clients are checking the products out. Note down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.
There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads, and sample recommendations should be distributed because the marketer knows this is one way of ensuring more sales. It is best to stay visible and accessible, too.
Customer service….
Yes, we, too, have to provide excellent customer service. The affiliate marketer remembered that the visitors had questions to answer, and this had to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer more than an unanswered email.
To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be given more attention. Nobody wants to be ignored, and customers are not always the most patient people. A quick answer should appear professional yet friendly, too.
After completing all the necessities, the marketer logs on to a chat room, where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under the same program. They can discuss how to best promote their products.
There are things to be learned, and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way of showing support. Others may want to join and be enticed by the discussion. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities are ahead.
Outside marketing…
The newsletters and E-zines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are any new developments in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication, which will be distributed to both old and new customers.
These same publications are also an important tool for keeping up to date with newly introduced products. The marketer may have put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadlines for these sales written in the publications.
It is time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer with promotions and increased sales. There is nothing like mentioning the people, their sites, and the process they have used to make everything work.
Of course, this will be published in the newsletters, among the more important information that has already been written.
The marketer still has time to write recommendations to those who want credible sources for promoting products. There is also time to post comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site with many wannabes.
Two objectives are achieved simultaneously. The marketer promotes the product and the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.
Okay, so this may not all be done in a day. But it does give you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one, spends the marketing day.
